Welcome!

I am an operations and logistics minded problem solver who also translates complex science into relatable, real world outputs.

My background is in air quality and climate, and I am working on a project about our changing Arctic.

Currently I am freelance given the recent transitions at the EPA.

In Production | The Arctic Air Log

The Arctic Air Log is a collection of air data from a research expedition in July 2025 off the island of Svalbard in the high Arctic, aboard the PSV Rembrandt Van Rijn. Through exploration, collected data, and personal observations of the extreme acceleration of global warming in Svalbard, this project aims to inspire ideation and actions for change.

I feel a responsibility to the Arctic. It can feel so distant, another headline on melting glaciers and sad polar bears. The reality is that changes in the Arctic impact all of us. And, in this place, things are changing rapidly leading to new climatic and environmental realities for all of us.

The Arctic region is vast. This log zooms in to document a small area.

Keep an eye out for updates!

Air Quality Matters

Equitable access and relevant engagement with air quality knowledge and monitoring efforts for non-experts is vital to ensure the longevity of the field and protection of our air. With Lichens CitiSci, a community science project that engaged non-experts in lichen biomonitoring work, we supported resource-strained air management efforts while making real world connections in local communities.

The thing about air is that it moves. That also means that pollutants in the air can travel vast distances causing harm to human health, our communities, the environment, and our future survival. Since air pollution moves, and can disproportionately impact communities and wilderness areas, having a better understanding of what is in the air and where it comes from can be useful in mitigation and policy efforts to protect and manage the air.

Air quality matters, and understanding pollutants in the air and how they harm living things can be challenging. It can also be difficult to make an argument with society that biodiversity matters, it is more accessible to make an argument that air quality matters because all living things breathe air and are impacted by air quality.
