PROBLEM
Science and children’s museum needed help conceptually developing and managing production of an exhibition for multicultural youth audiences in high traffic international airport while working across many stakeholders.

ACTION
I managed all aspects of the project from concept, design, revisions, and prototyping, including ideas, staff, and budgets. With a focus on partner collaboration and active listening, I established methods for content development translating technical science into playful prototypes within a detailed layout that were fabricated and installed.

IMPACT
I turned complex information into a fun, hands-on STEM-based experience shared across kids of all ages (adults included) while staying on budget. My exhibition was designed around inclusion and accessibility principles to ensure a more equitable experience for diverse, international audiences.

CREATIVE OUTPUTS
These images show the design iteration and final production of the exhibition. Not pictured are many spreadsheets tracking content, budget, staff specifics, and production processes.

New Mexico Foodsystems Reinvisioned

Project Manager | Retreat Facilitator
Rio Grande Community Development Corporation
ALBUQUERQUE, NM

PROBLEM
Community-focused organization needed organizational, logistical, and facilitation support to execute a $50,000 planning grant which encompassed state-wide input from community members, farmers, schools, government officials, and experts in the New Mexico food system.

ACTION
All aspects of this project were my responsibility. I designed custom tracking and monitoring tools, provided routine snapshots and dashboards for stakeholders, managed a state-wide interview process, planned and facilitated two day long in-person retreats with critical stakeholders, compiled reports, supported leadership, and wrapped up the project on time and at budget.

IMPACT
My organizational systems and clear communication kept morale high and the project moving. The retreat programming was inclusive and cultivated an action driven group who produced several useful products for helping to solve foodsystem roadblocks. The client was pleased and those involved felt heard and appreciated. We are awaiting updates on if this will be further funded.

CREATIVE OUTPUTS
These images show the products created at the retreats, aggregating community knowledge, expertise, and future hopes. Not pictured are the elaborate, custom spreadsheets and planning documents.

LOS ANGELES, CA

PROBLEM
County museum requested engaging and dynamic local art for weekly Summer Nights in the garden programming. Installations had to meet rigorous standards to navigate thousands of guests a week.

ACTION

I managed all logistics between design and production team and museum partner, including design specifications, a modest budget, communications, and concept from end to end. With my science communication skills I sourced museum skeleton and taxidermy specimens to tell a narrative of cabinets of curiosity. Additionally, I also supported a diverse team of designers, architects, and community leaders to cultivate a strong grassroots team.

IMPACT
The cabinet design created a sense of wonder for the explorer with unique interiors and cabinet handles, engaging audiences of all ages. It also offered the element of surprise as when doors were opened lights and sounds animated the collection, pleasing participants and sending laughter throughout the garden.

CREATIVE OUTPUTS
These images displayed show the entire process from concept design, production, installation, and even cabinet details. Not pictured are the planning and tracking tools.

Youth STEM Exhibition for International Museum

Senior Project Manager | Exhibition Developer + Designer
¡EXPLORA! Museum + Anderson Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum + Electric Playhouse
ALBUQUERQUE, NM

PROBLEM
International museum wanted to refresh an outdated youth-focused experience for a new STEM-based exhibition to expand their audience offerings. The budget was modest and required partnership between two very different organizations.

ACTION
I led active brainstorms and ideation sessions to combine ideas across three institutions and a variety of exhibit needs for the client. I conceptually designed an immersive and interactive exhibition highlighting both partners strengths to refresh an outdated youth focused exhibition experience.

IMPACT
The Elevation Station was an equitable and accessible experience where physical and digital exploration made science relatable.

CREATIVE OUTPUTS
These images show aspects of the exhibition production highlighting the variety of interactives available.
