Hanna Mesraty
I am a multi-faceted leader, science communicator, and program director. My experience is rooted in mission driven strategic development, project management, communications/outreach, and creative problem solving. I have experience across a variety of sectors (technology, government agency, non-profit, academia, natural resources) working with diverse audiences to reach goals while staying on budget. I cultivate empowered teams of thinkers and doers who thrive as individuals and make impact collaboratively.
I am currently Program Director of Lichens CitiSci, a funded citizen science project with the United States Forest Service using lichens as biomonitors for air quality. I am also the Science Communication and Environmental Justice ORISE Fellow for the USFS National Air Resource Management program, and have a Masters in Science Communication and Public Engagement from the University of Edinburgh. My previous roles were Manager of the Guest Experience at the La Brea Tar Pits and Museum of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, past-Vice President of the California Lichen Society, past-Vice President of the Museum Educators of Southern California, and Senior Programs Manager at the Autry Museum of the American West, and Senior Project Manager and Exhibition Designer at Explora museum.
I do occasionally take on special projects so if you have an idea let’s connect!
Let’s collaborate.
